{"id":828,"date":"2022-04-20T15:50:54","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T13:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/law-in-war.ukma.edu.ua\/?p=828"},"modified":"2022-05-09T17:54:41","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T15:54:41","slug":"experts-prepared-memorandum-on-communicating-with-law-enforcement-officers-during-wartime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law-in-war.ukma.edu.ua\/en\/experts-prepared-memorandum-on-communicating-with-law-enforcement-officers-during-wartime\/","title":{"rendered":"Experts Prepared Memorandum on Communicating With Law Enforcement Officers During Wartime"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The purpose of this memorandum is to answer common questions about the scope of law enforcement officials when dealing with citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under martial law, law enforcement agencies \u2013 including the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the National Guard \u2013 were provided with additional authority to fight the enemy more effectively and protect civilian security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is useful for citizens to know how to communicate with law enforcement and understand their scope of authority, including allowed and banned practices; how to avoid danger; and, how to protect their rights when interacting with law enforcers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To this end, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UkrainianLaw.in.War\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">experts from the <em>Law in a Wartime<\/em> Initiative<\/a> and the NGO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/justtalk.club\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Just Group<\/em><\/a> analyzed current legislation and compiled 18 questions and answers on communication with law enforcers in this unique period.
